About me
Hi, I’m Peter Vangsgaard.
Born in 1973 and based in Denmark, I am a dedicated hobbyist developer with a deep passion for creating software that is both functional and accessible. My primary tools of choice are Python and Free Pascal.
My Philosophy
My goal is to create software with the user in mind. Most of my projects are either shared for free or offered at a very fair and accessible price point.
While I am a strong supporter of the open source software community, I generally release my work as proprietary software rather than open source. This allows me to retain the rights to my creations and maintain the direction of my projects. However, I remain open-minded - I may choose to release specific projects as open source in the future if it feels like the right fit.
Giving Back
Even though my own software is usually closed source, I believe in being a good citizen of the developer ecosystem. I rely on many great open-source tools to build my projects; whenever I modify or improve the open-source software I use, I make it a priority to contribute those changes back to the original creators and the community.
For me, programming is about the joy of the craft. Whether I’m working on terminal simulations, Python scripts, or exploring the limits of my Chromebook setup, I build things because I love to see them work.
I'm currently working on a terminal/ascii space simulation game at https://www.termadyne.com
